Reasoning Surgeons and researchers in three countries recently collaborated to perform the world’s first transplant of a body part using stem cell technology. A 30 year old Colombian woman, Claudia Castillo, was left barely able to breathe following a tuberculosis infection that had damaged the branch of the trachea leading to her left lung.
